The Last Day of Kinder

Today was the last day of Kinder. I’m sorry to say but, it is one of my favorite days of the year. Why??

Well, there are a few reasons. First I have to say that I hate to see the kids leave. I’m the same as most parents, I think the kids are so beautiful and pure when they are young. I sometimes get scared when I think about how the world of elementary school might change them. BUT, I also have seen how hard they have worked in Kinder to grow up and to become smart, strong, confident and so many other things!

Kinder is a challenge. It is English. It is imagination. It is maturation. It is teamwork before selfishness. Those are hard things for kids to learn. Those are hard things for adults to motivate kids for.

In my heart, I believe that the Underdogs graduates this year have done all of those things. Some kids were weak in some areas and stronger in others but, they all grew in every area.

Today, I could joke, laugh and cry with my graduates. I could see every one of them showing their true character to the younger kids. That honesty shows self-confidence.

Kinder is not just teamwork between kids. It’s also the teachers and support staff doing teamwork with each other AND the kids.

I’m proud. I’m tired.

I’m satisfied.
